Pathfinder offering free tax prep services

Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center, the Community Development division of Pathfinder Services, will again provide free tax preparation assistance to those who made less than $54,000 in 2017.

My Free Taxes kiosks will also be available for those with an income up to $66,000 in 2017.

John Niederman, Pathfinder Services CEO and president, said there were 1,200 people in 2017 who received tax help through the program.

“People can get their taxes done by IRS trained volunteers who help individuals get their taxes prepared in an expert way for free that maximizes their returns,” Niederman said.

He said if the returns are maximized that adds to the economic vitality of the community.
