Roger James Horrell Apr. 25, 1947 - Sept. 3, 2019

Roger James Horrell, 72, of Warren, Indiana, passed away at 8:25 P.M. Sept. 3, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on Apr. 25, 1947, in Huntington County, Indiana to James W. & Corinne C. (Kitt) Horrell. He married Wilberta “Billie” (Cramer) Horrell on Dec. 20, 1970 in Applegate Chapel, Warren. Roger was a 1965 graduate of Cleer Creek High School; he also obtained a business degree from Indiana Business College and a bachelor’s degree from Marion College (now Indiana Wesleyan. He served in the US National Guard from 1967-1973.

Roger worked in finance for most of his life. He formerly was employed at Seyferts, HK Porter, Huntington Memorial Hospital, Wabash Alloys and retired from Huntington County Community Schools as a bus driver after 15 years of service. He served on various committees throughout his lifetime at Mt. Etna United Methodist Church, where he and his wife are members. He was a certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church, a member of the Roanoke Lions Club and past President of the Board and was Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Community Link Federal Credit Union. Roger enjoyed camping, reading, woodworking, making jams and jellies and above all spending time with his grandkids.

Loving survivors include: Wife - Wilberta “Billie” (Cramer) Horrell, Warren, Son - Tracy (Kristen) Horrell, Russiaville, Daughter - LaTishia Horrell, Markle, 3 Grandchildren - Jay William Horrell, Bennett Layne Horrell and Felicity James Horrell, Brother - Ron (Sue) Horrell, Huntington, and Sister - Janice Bolin, North Webster. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Sept. 6, 2019 from 4:00 - 8:30 P.M. and from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Sept. 7, 2019, and an hour before the service.

A service to celebrate Roger’s life will be at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. Sept. 7, 2019 with Pastor Mike Gallant officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington.

Preferred memorials: Mt. Etna UMC Capital Improvement Fund, 6383 W. - 600 S. Huntington, Indiana 46750 and/or Huntington County 4-H Fair Association, 354 N. Jefferson Suite 202, Huntington, Indiana 46750.

Arrangements are being handled by Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
