Shooting suspect located

Police located a man suspected to be armed and dangerous, who is allegedly connected to a shooting on Friday in Huntington, according to Huntington Police reports. 

Police say Joseph Anthony Mills, 23, of Fort Wayne, is a person of interest in the case. Mills had an active felony warrant out of Huntington County for being a habitual traffic violator, a HPD press release states.

At approximately 1 p.m. on March 8, Huntington Police Department were dispatched to Parkview Huntington Hospital for a patient suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers briefly spoke with the patient who was in the process of being transported to a Fort Wayne hospital for the injury, according to the report. 

“Due to the early phases of this investigation, additional information will be provided at a later time,” according to HPD. 

Huntington County Sheriff’s Department, Huntington County Prosecutor’s Office and Indiana State Police are assisting in the investigation led by HPD.
