One injured in car accident

A two-vehicle crash left a North Manchester woman injured on Ind. 124 Friday afternoon.

A semi truck fully loaded with grains was traveling eastbound on Ind. 124, a half mile away from the Huntington County line, when it collided with a sedan during an attempt to make a right hand turn.

Driver Amy Trowbridge, 45, of North Manchester, was traveling behind the trailer in her 2016 Kia Optima when she noticed the truck drift into the oncoming lane, according to Wabash County Sheriff reports. She told officers she believed the truck was turning left.

Semi driver Charles Enyeart, 60, told officers he had indicated a right hand turn using his blinker and started turning right onto County Road 700 East. Trowbridge braked hard when she realized the truck was turning right, and the driver’s side of her vehicle collided with the rear passenger side of the truck. Her car spun around and hit the rear of the truck, damaging the back of her car as well.

A witness said he saw the truck travel into the westbound lane in an attempt to turn onto 700 East, but could not see Trowbridge’s vehicle. He said he only heard a loud noise and assumed that was the moment her car made contact with the truck.

She sustained damages across the front, rear and side of her vehicle, according to reports. Trowbridge also complained of head pain and was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

Enyeart did not sustain any visible injuries, according to sheriff deputies.
