A Huntington man pleaded guilty to two felony counts of child pornography and was sentenced, Monday, to 5 years to be served at the Indiana Department of Corrections, with one year suspended, according to court records.

An online tip was received by a Fort Wayne investigator with the IP address registered to Gregory A. Bair, 55, who was convicted of a Level 5 felony charge of child pornography where the child is between the ages of 5 and 11 and a Level 6 felony charge of child pornography where the child is less than 18 years old, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Huntington County Circuit Court.

The plea agreement included that the State would cap the initially executed portion of the sentence to 4 years and that the sentences for both counts would run concurrently.

Between May and July of this year, Investigators found nearly 50 photos of children under the age of 12 and 50 additional photos of children under the age of 18, along with explicit videos according to police reports.

Bair has been in custody of the Huntington County Jail since July 7, 2018 and has accrued 102 days with 34 days of “good time” credit according to an abstract of judgment.

Had Bair gone not taken the plea agreement, he would have faced between one and six years for the Level 5 charge and between six months and two years for the Level 6 charge. The advisory sentence for a Level 5 charge of child pornography is 3 years.

Bair will serve his one suspended year on probation with an ankle bracelet and is required to register as a sex offender.
