Roadwork ongoing on US 24

by Andrew Maciejewski - amaciejewski@h-ponline.com

A $3.7-million project to restore concrete on U.S. 24 between Huntington and Wabash is underway and is expected to be completed by early November, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Westbound traffic is down to one lane in preparation for road crews to remove and replace sections of concrete between Fork of the Wabash Way in the City of Huntington and State Road 13 in the City of Wabash.

INDOT officials said drivers should watch for possible stopped traffic and vehicles entering or exiting the construction zone.

Drivers should slow down and use caution near workers while driving through the 15-mile construction zone to ensure worker’s safety.

The contract also covers the rehabilitation of several bridges in Fort Wayne.
