Etna Avenue Closed

Etna Avenue will be closed for approximately 45 days from Waterworks Road to the bridge over the Wabash River from June 4.

June 9

The Master Gardeners will help children create a plant-based craft for Father’s Day after story time Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Huntington City-Township Public Library. Seating is limited to 30 participants, and those interested can register by calling the Youth Services desk at 260-356-2900.

Relay for Life of Huntington County’s Annual Walk “Rockin’ Round the Clock for Relay” will take place Saturday from noon to midnight at Kriegbaum Field. Those interested can sign up a team by calling 260-356-0219 or emailing mvkiefer@att.net.

The Huntington County Commissioners plan to meet in executive session, closed to the public, with respect to initiation of litigation or litigation that is either pending or has been threatened specifically in writing. No further information was released at this time.

June 18

Cancers Services for Huntington County is holding their annual B&K Root Beer Stand Fundraiser on Monday, June 18. The will donate $1 for each order that day to Cancer Services. Funds from the event will help with milage costs for traveling back and forth to treatment and prescription costs for cancer medication. All donations go back to those living in Huntington County.

The Samuel Huntington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will have their next meeting Wednesday June 21 at the Gathering Place, 547 Guilford St., Huntington, Ind. at 12:30 p.m. There will be an “indoor picninc” with tea, water and coffee.

The Salamonie Summer Festival 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be Saturday June 30 at the Knight-Bergman Center in Warren, Ind. Registration forms can be found at the Warren Pharmacy, 22 North Wayne St.

July 13

The Third Annual Forks of the Wabash Uncorked Wine and Beer Tasting Event will be held 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Historic Forks of the Wabash Park, 30111 W. Park Drive. All proceeds will support the development and maintenance of trails in Huntington and helping preserve and protect the Forks of the Wabash Park.
